Mark Jodon is the author of a book of poetry, Day of the Speckled Trout (Transcendent Zero Press) and a limited edition chapbook, What the Raven Wants (Provision Press). His poetry has been featured in the Houston Poetry Fest and the Houston First Friday Reading Series, has received top honors in the Friendswood Library Ekphrastic Poetry Festival, and was recently selected by Button Poetry as one of its short poem contest winners.
Mark’s poetry shows up in unusual places: displayed in a city hall with a photography exhibit, quoted in a doctoral dissertation, incorporated in a wedding ceremony, and read in contemplative worship services, in addition to being published in a variety of poetry journals and anthologies in the United States, Canada, and Africa. Mark grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania and has lived in Houston for the past 35 years. He and his wife Kris have two sons and a thirteen year old golden retriever (Leo).
